A Small Collection Of Some Favourite Quotes

I have been having a few bad days lately, and Pinterest is always there to inspire me and make me feel better. I have found a few quotes that have helped me move on from negative feelings and inspired me to be better, and I thought that I would share them with you lovelies.

I love this one because I feel that it says that even if we are the poorest we can get, serving others can only make us richer, not poorer.

I like this one too because happiness is contagious. Once you have it, you can pass it on. It's something everyone needs and wants!!

This one is great because you honestly don't have to wait for anyone or anything to make this world a better place. You can start right now if you wanted to.

This one is really important to me at the moment. I've been hurt a lot lately and I needed to read this to remind myself that being angry at the people that hurt me will only make me hurt myself more and will only make me have negative thoughts.

Well, I hope all you lovelies have an amazing day and I hope these have inspired you, and reminded you of things. I loves you! Bye lovelies!

October Book Reviews

Yay! I'm finally getting into my book reviews because I've actually had time to read this month. I got to read two books this month, and both were really amazing reads.

The first book is "Love and Misadventure" by Lang Leav. It's a short book full of really good poetry. I finished it twice in two days. I think this would be a good book to have for a school day, or a short plane/train/car ride.

The second book that I got the chance to read was "Three Cups of Tea" by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin. This book is about Greg Mortenson's long road of building schools in Pakistan, mainly for girls, in impoverished villages after his failed attempt at climbing the worlds second highest mountain, K2. It shows his struggles and successes in this long road to help this nation. It's a great read and very inspiring. I actually read it because that is what I would love to do.

Well, I hope you all enjoyed this post and I hope you check out both of these amazing books. Both deserve to be read.

Bye lovlies!

Super Sunday!!

Hello all! So today has been an amazing day, and a great start to this week. Church this morning was as wonderful as ever! I decided randomly during sacrament meeting that I will be doing Personal Progress all over again! So, I've been doing that since I got home and I already have three signed off and a few more to finish within these next three weeks!

After a few hours of that, I got to skype with my parents and siblings. I sure do miss them a lot, and I don't get to see them until November, which kind of sucks, but I'll get by with weekly skype sessions until then.

I've just been writing letters to my missionary friends, and thinking of care package ideas for them. I am so proud of my boys and I can't wait to see if they have matured at all (probably not).

Well, I'm going to finish up these letters, and last minute homework (oops...) and then go to bed.

Until next time my lovelies!

My Crazy Life!

Geez, it's been a while. Life has been so crazy with marching band, Senior council, and church stuff. This week has been fun though.

I had a parade for marching band on Monday, and afterwards I went to IHOP and did a little shopping with my guardians. The rest of the week until Friday was a little boring. I had a football game and it was a ton of fun! I love being in the band with all of my friends. My boyfriend even hung out with me in the stands for a bit. Then, I ended this week by going to a Utah State University vs. Air Force Academy game. I had so much fun, and USU won(for the record I am a U of U fan)! I'm super excited for this upcoming week and all that it will bring.

Good bye lovelies!

Uugh, Uggh UUUUGhhH

Yes. I am complaining again. :P I am finally starting on my college applications and wow. I am just blah. I have to write at least five essays, and start getting moolah for those application fees. PLUS I have to retake the ACT because I didn't take to writing portion and one of the colleges I'm applying to requires that (Pro tip: Take that part of the ACT when you first take it so you don't have to stress about taking it again). I'm thinking that this will all be worth it when I get my degree when I'm finished with my Bachelor's degree and become a teacher. <3 Part of me cannot wait for life to happen, and the other part of me is just like 'can I please be two-years old again? Pretty please?' But hey, life is an adventure, and I'm just starting mine.

Talk to you later lovlies!

Can I Please Have More Hours in a Day?

Please, but JUST for sleep. These past few days have been exhausting! Band camp is fun, but a lot of hard work. Pretty much all day spent outside in the heat, plus having to make time for cheer meetings, unpacking my new room, and a whole lot more doesn't make a lot of time for sleep(yeah, I think this is just a rant/complaining post. Oops...). I just have to get over it because soon I'll have to add school/homework, and a job to all of these things.

In other news, school is starting in a week and I am pretty excited. I don't know why but learning new things always puts me in a good mood, unless it's math (bleh). I just love buying new school supplies, new classes and experiences. It's also my senior year so this year is gonna be GREAT! I am just super excited!!

Well, I have to attempt sleep.

Love you guys!

Welp

Sorry again for this inconsistency! Life has just been a big old blah with school stuff starting and whatnot.

So, I've been thinking about a lot of things I could do to try to become more consistent in posting. I have come up with monthly book reviews, weekly/bi-weekly crafts, room designs, movie of the month... blah blah blah. I will still try to do OOTW/OOTD once I get all settled in at my new house. So, hopefully soon I will get more and more consistent with the whole posting thing. Haha, no promises though.

Love you guys!!

Oh Geez...

Man, I've been so lame at posting... and yes I have some lame excuses too. My life has been busy getting ready for my senior year of high school. I've been buying school supplies, getting ready for senior pictures, getting ready for band camp/band season, moving, and hanging out with the BFF.

Speaking of, I have a ton (well... not really. Maybe 5) of pictures of me and the best friend at our zoo trips during the past two weeks. I will eventually get those up. Just please forgive me if I don't update very often. This 17 year old has a very hectic life!

Y'all are great!

Goal Setting

Today I've been thinking about goal setting. I don't know why, but I have been. I just feel that goals are really important in helping us grow. I keep remembering this quote I heard at efy: "A goal not written down is only a wish." That makes me think of all of the things I've wanted to accomplish, but that I've never written down, so I thought that I'd start.

I've decided to write down some school year goals, which include:

  • Studying more an doing my homework (oops...)
  • Having a healthier lifestyle
  • Writing in my journal more often
  • Studying my scriptures more often
  • Blogging consistency (let's hope this one is reached)
Yeah, these are some of  what I came up with, but I'm sure more will pop into my tiny little head! What are some goals you have for this year??

Love you all!

Reunited and it Feels so Good!!

After eleven long days I am finally reunited with my best friend, Mckenzie. I had been in Salt Lake City for that time so we obviously couldn't see eachother. I am super happy to see her! She is one of the greatest people I know.

Also.. some other exciting news! I finished my Personal Progress today!! I'm so excited!

Welp.. Love you all!

Am I Crazy Yet?

Okay, so I am insane. I am planning for my future apartment while I'm still in high school. Please tell me that I'm not the only one that does this.

Well, I have the basic colors of what I want every room to be, and I'm getting an idea of furniture that I like. Let's hope that my style doesn't change in the next year or so. ^^

White is definitely going to be in there a lot. I'm thinking of pink and white for my bedroom and living room, yellow and a creamy white or ivory for my kitchen, mint and a pale grey for my bathroom, and If I'm lucky enough to be able to afford a two bedroom apartment then that room will be a very light brown and white, or a light blue and white. Yes.. I am crazy for doing this.

Since I'm also obsessed with Ikea most of my furniture will be from there, or from the vintage furniture area of etsy.

Well... I must go on with my crazy planning!!

Love y'all!

Why Hello, and Welcome!

Hi there everyone, and welcome to my blog, Living the Pink Life! First off, I am going to introduce myself:

My name is Mackenzie, but I go by Kenzie and I am going to be a senior in high school. I am a cheerleader, and a marching band kid. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS/Mormon). I come from Utah, but I currently live in Colorado. I am the oldest out of 3 siblings and I am undecided as to which college I am going to.

Now, to introduce the purpose of my blog to you. This is going to be a blog about fashion/make-up, surviving high school/college, and well... anything else I can think of. Feel free to ask me any questions if you have any. I'll have my twitter/instagram up once I figure everything out.

I love y'all!

xoxo
